Re: [thelionscall] PC and VDT

I had no idea they already started pre-production on VDT. That's awesome!!! I can't wait.

RE: [thelionscall] PC and VDT

Their reasoning for a new director was scheduling conflicts with Adamson, including Prince Caspian..

Good, then they've stuck to their plan to film the two back-to-back.

I'm glad, although a new director makes me nervous.  Still, Douglas Gresham will keep a close eye on things, I'm sure.

Re: [thelionscall] I'm new

Well, I'm new to the group as well, though I've been around The Lion's Call for some time now. I'm Petraverd, TLC staffie and the Character Connections essayist. So thank you, I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it! It's nice to know these articles are being read and enjoyed.

Anyway, I haven't read Eragon, so I'm afraid I don't have much to say on that subject...but I'll be around, so you'll probably see me throw my two cents in sooner or later on some subject. Until then!

Re: [thelionscall] I'm new

The basic plotline is taken pretty much straight from Star Wars, but Eragon is set in a world with a very deep original culture, which really comes out in Eldest, especially how magic works.

You will find the atheistic part in there, just keep reading.

I would definitely not want a child to read Eldest, for the that reason.

Thanks for your feedback, Daniel. I kinda see what you mean about Eragon being athestic. The author is  a homeschooler and most of those are Christians. I just started reading Eldest, so I'm haven't come across anything I did not like.

One thing I did not like about Eragon (and more than one fantasy book) is that it copies Lord of the rings, Star Wars, and narnia. Many fantasy authors do this, building on the foundation laid by Lewis and Tolkien, keeping the same plotline and changing a name a little, adding different characters. This is what I've found. I don't know if  anyone else sees it this way.

By the way,  does anyone know a liitle more about the cast, crew, script, ect. Of the upcoming Prince Caspian?

I've read Eragon and like it, but it's completely different from Narnia, lacking completely any spiritual value whatsoever.

In fact, it seems very atheistic and anti-Christian in many ways, especially in the second book, Eldest.  Think on that, if you would.

Hi Narnia Fans!

I just entered the group yesterday. Itʼs awsome to be able to talk to fans of Narnia.

Have you seen the new Character connection on the Lionʼs Cal? Itʼs the best one so far! The writer did an excellent job. I loved the message of salvation at the end. Kudos to Kristi Simmons.

By the way, Iʼve just finished a great book called Eragon, by  Christopher Paolini. It is a wonderfull book, almost as good as Narnia. If you love the Narnia series, you will probably like this book.

So, with that very brief message I sign off.
