[narnia] a question on THE BOY AND HIS HORSE

Hi! I have a question, in the end of the horse and his boy, queen lucy
tells them all the story of the wardrobe and how all of the 4 king and
queens got to narnia. But i dont understand. In the lion the witch and
the wardrobe, the four pevensies had forgotten everything about how
they got in there, they didnt even remember the lamp post when they saw
it again.

I hope someone can solve this for me!

RE: [thelionscall] Narnia on the BBC

I just threw out the first link I found on Yahoo.  I figure any idiot should know how to search for things on the internet.  Sadly, people keep asking for things they could find for themselves in seconds.  I had some trouble finding it on Amazon, but I'm surprised they're charging that much on the main website.

Focus on the Family's Radio Theatre is a series of made-for-radio audio drama's based mostly on great literature and made by the conservative Christian organization Focus on the Family.  On of the first things they made was all seven Chronicles of Narnia, with full support of the Lewis estate.  As a matter of fact, Douglas Gresham does the intros and final commentary for each book.  The acting quality is amazing, the audio effects are perfect, and the scripts stick close to the exact words of the books most of the time.  You ought to look these up!
Where could I find them???

I have very little to add. I agree with what everyone else said about them. i checked them out from my local library once and watched them about a dozen times each. Sure the special effects are bad, but what do you expect. I kept hoping I'd find the other three movies somewhere, but obviously, I never did.
Even I admit the special affects are bad, this was about 20 years ago! They're bound to be *oh well*

Yes, they were true to the book, but to a very abridged version of the book.  Many things were left out, which is perhaps better than lots of things being added in.  But that’s a matter of opinion.

Well I was very young at the time, so I don't really remember it.  All I do know is that I loved it  Winky

To Tom and other friends of Narnia

I agree with Daniel. The BBC films stick verty close to the books. That goes both for the story and for what the actors actually say, as far as I can remember. I believe C. S. Lewis chose his words very carefully, making the books full of wisdome. That ought to be brought into any film.

So I would definately recommend the BBC films.

I personally like it.  The special effects are horrible, but that's just because of the incredibly low budget.  The spirit of the movies, however, is perfect.  I feels like narnia.  It also sticks far closer to the books than the new movie does.

Yeah, I noticed that too. It did add another dimenesion to the charactor that was (imosho) very interesting and fun.

Hi all,

Don't  know if anyone else picked this up in the scenes or not, but it almost seemed, (at least that's the impression that I picked up and noticed while watching the movie anyway .)  that James McAvoy, while he was playing Tumnus, had a slight bubble of laughter in his voice underneath his words and was on the playful side as well. I noticed that his eyes were also dancing with mischievious laughter and playful teasing or maybe that's just his unique personality showing through.
