RE: [thelionscall] Narnia on the BBC

I’m not a big fan of the BBC version.  Although the special effects were substandard even for their time, that wasn’t why I disliked them.  The reason I disliked them was that although they stick close to the book, it is a very abridged version of the book they stuck close to.  There were too many missing parts for the videos to claim my excitement.  Then again, I’m known for being too picky.  I waited until I was 37 to find just the right woman to marry!

Blessings,

Dan

To Tom and other friends of Narnia

I agree with Daniel. The BBC films stick verty close to the books. That goes both for the story and for what the actors actually say, as far as I can remember. I believe C. S. Lewis chose his words very carefully, making the books full of wisdome. That ought to be brought into any film.

So I would definately recommend the BBC films.

I personally like it.  The special effects are horrible, but that's just because of the incredibly low budget.  The spirit of the movies, however, is perfect.  I feels like narnia.  It also sticks far closer to the books than the new movie does.
