Finally saw the cinema movie yesterday. Very, very nice. :-)
I think the actors were very good. Esp "LucY2 was charming - but what child isn't at that age?
I am the kind of guy who cries when words touch me. Esp words I have cherished for a long time. Yesterday I cried al lot of times.

I found the film quite true to the book, even if they had allowed quite a few changes. (Personally i found the BBC-series even better that way).

I don't remember the river with the breaking ice form the book, and not at all any rafting at an ice-block. That seemed odd, and unnecessary, as the story in the book is exciting enough.
That goes for the great emphasis on the battle too - it seemed very LOTR-film-inspired. And the birds bombing emenies with stones - a paralel to the Blitz on London, off course - where did they get that from? Have I forgotten too much of the book? Time to re-read?

Even so, I find the film makers have managed to hold on to the basic story. I believe they tell what C.S.Lewis wanted to tell - to children of all ages.

I loved the film!  I want to see it again.  But I know what you mean about the rafting ice.  I think that was for extra suspension really.  You are right though, it isn't in the book.

The bit at the beginning was pretty good, i.e the blitz.  It says at the beginning of LWW that 4 children were brought to a big house because of the war.  I think the Director wanted to show everyone (as we would've imagined it in the book) what the Blitz was, and very clever indeed!   Clappy

I just want to make sure this Director does all seven books!!  Winky cos he's very good!
