[thelionscall] Aslan (was birthday party)

We are all taught to respect the flag, as it represents our country.
In the same way, Aslan represents Christ for many of us, so he should
be treated with respect and not hit with sticks- just my opinion.
I was thinking about how Aslan is like Christ in some respects, but
perhaps not in others. Many of the Hebrews were hoping for a Messiah
who would help them defeat their enemies in battle, such as the Romans.
David was the model for this type of leader. Jesus of course was not
this type of leader. In the recent Narnia movie (which I loved),
Aslan helps the forces of good to defeat the White witch's forces. In
this way Aslan seems to differ somewhat from Christ. I'd be interested
in what the rest of you think. -Tom
