RE: [narnia] a question on THE BOY AND HIS HORSE
Dear Kate,
The Horse and His Boy takes place during the reign of Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy during the Golden Age of Narnia in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. From The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe..."And Susan grew into a tall and gracious woman with black hair that fell almost to her feet and the kings of the countries beyond the sea began to send ambassadors asking for her hand in marriage."
In The Horse and His Boy, Susan was being courted and pursued by Rabadash, son of the Tisroc of Calormen. She, Edmund, and others of the royal party were in Tashbaan being entertained by the Prince who was waiting for her answer concerning his proposal of marriage.
The Narnians' presence in Tashbaan led to the event in which Shasta is accosted by Edmund and friends when traveling the streets of the Tashbaan. Since Edmund mistook Shasta for Prince Corin, he of course took Shasta back to the villa where the members of the royal party was residing. The rest of The Horse and His Boy flows on from that incidental (though all readers of Narnia know that no happening is really "incidental") meeting.
When reading The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe to my fourth grade class, I do not read the end of the last chapter where it describes the hunting of the White Stag. I keep the children, both the Pevensies and the children of my class, in the story of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. When we have finished The Horse and His Boy, I then go back and read the remaining part of the last chapter of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. I do this to impress upon the class the concept of a story within a story.
Happy reading...

-----Original Message-----We don't know when Horse and His Boy happens, therefor it is probably still in the time where they do remember coming to Narnia. Also, just because it seems like a dream doesn't mean they forget, and of them all, I'll bet Lucy remembers the best because of the person she is.

tells them all the story of the wardrobe and how all of the 4 king and
queens got to narnia. But i dont understand. In the lion the witch and
the wardrobe, the four pevensies had forgotten everything about how
they got in there, they didnt even remember the lamp post when they saw
it again.
I hope someone can solve this for me!
